Dan Gogh offers entertaining and informative hands-on workshops that walk students through drawing basics up to the more advanced concepts of expressive drawing. In addition to the group instruction, this program provides one-on-one instruction and Q&A time with a working professional artist. This workshop can be tailored to teach youth, teens, or adults. Tables and chairs are needed; hand-outs, pencils, and paper for drawing will be provided by the instructor. The program is ideal for libraries or other after school student programs. You can decide to host one workshop or a series, discounts available for multiple bookings. These workshops can be customized and are available all year round.
We hired Dan for five tween/teen drawing workshops for our 2021 Summer Library Program. One was virtual and the four were in-person. Here are the comments I received from the youth services staff at the libraries:
• The teens were very engaged in this program
• Dan was very personable. He also left drawing handouts for any teens that were unable to attend.
• Dan was great! He was personable, encouraging and engaging with the teens. I hope to have him at our library again to showcase his drawing skills.
• Dan Gogh was a fantastic find! He's the kind of professional I trust to be good with teens, especially with his experience as a teacher. I would definitely hire him back for more drawing programs. I could see him being a great fit for all ages!
When asked, all five libraries said they would hire Dan again.
I hired Dan to host a Drawing Manga workshop for teens at my library. He was clear, professional, and FUN! He made it so easy to follow along even I had characters completed towards the end. I would highly recommend him to other teen librarians in need of entertainment for their teen community. I plan to hire him back in the future.
Due to COVID19 out library had to hole virtual summer reading programs. Daniel put together a great virtual intro to our Digging Deeper 2020 Summer Reading Program. The show was upbeat and held the attention of the smallest of readers. He also provided 3 character drawing videos with worksheets to add to our summer reading virtual program. I would highly recommend him for future programs, both in person and virtually.

I am the Youth Services Manager at TCPL in Elburn and scheduled Dan for two programs as part of our summer reading. He was very responsive and helpful during the scheduling process and answered all my questions. Specifically, we booked Drawing 101 and the Music-Inspired Art classes. We mainly had children participate in the drawing class and more tweens/teens for the music class. Both were a huge hit but our patrons especially enjoyed the unique music art class and requested it again! Dan was great with the young patrons and I would highly recommend his programs!
Dan is an awesome presenter, everyone leaves his programs feeling happy and successful. Library patrons (and staff) are always excited to see his classes and workshops on the programming calendar. In addition to being easy to work with, reasonably priced, and super professional, Dan updates his offerings regularly to include relevant and varied topics.
Dan Laib is fantastic....we had him to finalize our summer reading program as a "special" day for our kids. He did the "Exploring New Worlds" and he knocked it out of the ball park! Our kids were so attentive, they were very involved and anxious for more. We will certainly have Dan back to our library again.
Dan was wonderful. He had a great rapport with the adults and kids. He held them captive throughout his presentation. The participants all voted to have Dan back. I am most happy with Dan and his workshop. Thanks for a job well- done, Dan!!
Daniel came to our library and worked with our teens on drawing optical illusions. The teens and I enjoyed the program. I heard several positive comments over the days following the program. Daniel was professional, patient, and fun. He did a marvelous job with some of our more difficult participants. Wonderful program
Dan came to our library for our How-To Tuesdays summer series. He taught an energetic group of 20 K-5th graders how to create their own superhero. He got their attention right off the bat with a little bit of unexpected magic. Not only did he go through the drawing process step-by-step, he also talked about what makes a superhero and different types of heroes. Dan has a great sense of humor and is incredibly patient. He made sure to tell kids that their drawings might not look exactly like his..."and that's okay". Dan is a pleasure to work with. I know that we will have him back for more programs at our library.
Dan came to our library and presented his Drawing Video Game Characters workshop. I am impressed with Dan's ability to make his workshops fun for all levels of artistic talent. He has a down-to-earth attitude that makes him approachable and he makes every participant feel proud of the work they created. We had a great turn-out for the workshop and the kids were super-excited about what they learned! This is the second time that Dan has come to our library and I know it won't be the last!
Dan presented his Design Your Own Board Game Workshop at our library for 3rd-5th graders. It was a fun program for kids to use their imaginations. They had a blast! Dan was very easy to work with and had a great rapport with the kids. He was able to calm and engage a very excited group of kids. I would definitely invite Dan back to our library!
